Luxury doesn’t have to be flashy – architects from Walker Workshop firm has confirmed this thesis in the project Oak Pass. This is a residence which is hidden in the oak grove, as the name suggests. More than one hundred state-protected trees cherish owner’s peace here.
The advantages of the local landscape has helped architects to “drown” villa in the hills. It has allowed to make the building virtually invisible. At the same time the owners has received the best view: you can see excellent valley and, of course, oak trees around.
Deliberately inverted design is one of the distinguishing Oak’s feature. The upper floors were occupied by the public and guest rooms unlike the traditional plans when bedrooms are located upstairs. Thus, private space turned down and actually was hidden under the ground.
The owners can get in a small indoor courtyard right from the bedroom. Its privacy owes the “sunk” configuration of the building. In addition, the architects placed the pool that helps to relax and enjoy views of the California landscapes on the top floor.
