The loft mansard apartment from Bernd Gruber studio is located in Vienna, the capital of Austria. The architects made this apartment of two top floor flats in an old building of William I the Conqueror’s era. The interior is decorated in the style of classical modernism with the dominance of black and white shades. Large sloping walls and windows bring some special charm to the design. Sofas and armchairs are placed in the lowest part of the living room.
The designers wanted to make the elegant and respectable interior. That is why they paid much attention to choose environmentally friendly finishing materials of the highest quality. For example, black natural stone partly used for the walls looks really luxurious. And the combination of brown and black granite used in the floor finishing makes the space even more attractive and glamorous. The designers also painted walls and ceiling in white to make the contrast with the dark furnishings. It makes the interior pure and deep. Moreover, owners can have a comfortable rest sitting on the sofa of ivory color with the dark gray carpet in front of it.
Two Wassily chairs by Marcel Breuer standing in front of the sofa symbolize industrialization in the first half of the twentieth century. They connect organically the past and the present. In the center of the living room there is the fireplace decorated with black metal panel. Black dining table and 6 chairs look really stylish and elegant on a light background around them. The kitchen is designed at the end of the living room. Moreover, kitchen cabinets have brown smooth surfaces that contrast with the light floor increasing its graphic features. Ceiling wooden windows let the sunlight inside the flat and they are also nice decoration elements of the interior. Pottery with floral motifs in the bathroom could raise owners’ spirit. In addition to this, modern lighting system with stunning chandeliers and lamps completes the entire composition of the elegant interior.
