The House in Santiago
The architectural bureau “dRN Architecs” presents the dual-purpose swimming pool. On the one hand, this is a place where you can feast your eyes on the mountains. And on the other hand, if you look from the living room windows, you will see the terrace with the pool, which dives into the landscape like a ship into the sea waves and makes this panorama even more spectacular.
The House in New York
The similarity between a pool and a greenhouse is not an accident. It really used to be a hothouse. But it has changed its functions after the reconstruction of the house. The most charming feature of such a conversion is that the owners can admire the sky above and the trees around lying in the swimming pool. And, by the way, the “greenhouse effect” can make the swimming season a little bit longer.
The House in Spain
A pool-transformer with sliding walls easily adapts to different weather conditions. However, even in the closed position its design is inseparable with the surrounding landscape – that is because of excellent views and beautiful reflections in the water.
The Hotel Gr?flicher Park Hotel & Spa in Germany
The decorator – Bruno Raymond
This pool is a part of a large spa, zoned with large columns. Taking into account the size, it can be used for both swimming and even lounging in the water after all kinds of healing procedures. Such laconic interior and “low-key” stone and mosaics finishing help people to relax and find the inner peace. That is why they attend such centers.
The House in Portugal
The author of this project has built this country residence for her family. The house consists of several pavilions. The one that was used like a kitchen, dining room and resting area at once does not even have walls; it has an entrance to the yard with a pool and an open-air living room. Certainly, householders spend most of the time near the water when it is not so hot, but if the sun burns mercilessly, they can hide under a canopy.
The house on the island of Cephalonia
The designer of the project – Dimitris Zacharakis

This swimming pool is a perfect choice for them, because it has a shape, which perfectly repeats the geometric silhouette of the mountain that lies beneath. Here everything what is artificially created combines ideally with landscapes.
The House in Orleans
The designer of the project – Yves Legendre
Legendre built this pool for himself in 1970s, but the interior looks modern even more than forty years later. Here everything is really simple, but there is also some French elegance: wood-paneled walls are decorated with posters, and the roof, windows frames and even chairs are designed in the same color.
The House in California
The architect – William Wurster
Wurster built the house, which is known in the history of architecture as The Stone House, for the photographer Morley Baer in 1965. The swimming pool is the most famous part of the house. The pictures of the pool have been also used for posters and puzzles. The unusual gable roof is the secret of its popularity. It looks as if it had been turned upside down, thus, the horse is at the bottom.
The House in New York
The designer of the project – Selina van der Geest
The hostess and author of the project was born in England (she got the Dutch surname from her husband) and you can see it with the naked eye. The architectural bureau” Wespi de Meuron Romeo”
Architects have designed a swimming pool as a part of the «one-piece» multi-level platforms, including a terrace for taking air baths with a shower, an outdoor kitchen, built-in dining table and sofas. And the stone finishing provides the integrity of the entire structure, because it seems like it is being carved from single huge block.

The House in Fishers Island
Architectural Office “Thomas Phifer and Partners”
The swimming pool and a path that leads from the house to the beach create the illusion that the ocean flows into the house. And the right choice of material increases this feeling, because reflective properties of glass make the walls of the house resemble water. So it is sometimes difficult to see where one ends and another begins.
The House in Toronto
The architectural bureau “Shim-Sutcliffe Architects Inc”
The host-mathematician wanted to show his love to curved lines in the design of the house. So, the architects have embodied his dream into reality using the irregular shape of the hall where the swimming pool is situated. Trees planted outside and the wood paneling inside make the space warm, despite the cold mathematical calculation and a large amount of glazing.
The House in the Alps
The designer of the project – Matali Crasset
This house used to be an ordinary barn in the past. The designer has kept only the wooden ceiling with exposed beams and the stone wall. But she has completely changed the opposite wall and cut windows through it from the floor to the ceiling. Of course, the Alps are not the hottest place on earth. But still sometimes there could happen good summer days with the pleasant weather, so then windows can be opened and hosts can swim in the fresh air.
The House in Ibiza
The architect – Ram?n Esteve
The author of the project designed a swimming pool, which will be an extension of the house and at the same time a part of the landscape. And he completely succeeded with this task. The result was a little bit unexpected, but at the same time harmonic and cozy. By the way, bricks keep heat very well, so that idea can be useful for houses in less hot countries.
