Young Portuguese architects from PROD studio have created a private residential house at the outskirts of Penafiel, just a few kilometres east of Porto, which consists of four small houses, joined by a glass corridor.
This house is intended for the family of four members, and this inspired the designers to create several volumes. They all look pretty the same, however vary in size, orientation and functional purpose.
Three blocks are placed at right angles, forming the space of glassed central corridor, whereas the forth volume is located angle-wise and splays out.
Sloping roofs create a sole peaked section, whereas the corridor has plain glazed roof, which help him blend into surroundings.
Internal and external walls are faced with deal planks, being painted in white in the interior. Roofing panels are produced of galvanized sheet and the foundation is built with the use of local materials.
