This unique futuristic building is located at the incredible area of natural beauty, namely at the Dolomites (South Tyrol, Italy). Rather traditional farm was built there in the sixties, and one day its owner had decided to fundamentally renovate the residential premises. To do this she had applied to Peter Pichler Architecture studio, and its professionals had immediately set to work.
The houses are situated at the suburb of small Italian town Bolzano, which is the administrative center of the so named province. This place is especially marvelous at spring, when «Mirror Houses» are literally full of apple-tree flowers. The main idea of this project is to unite an outstanding nature beauty and up-to-date technologies. The goal was successfully achieved by all means: thanks to the mirror coating of the walls a pair of residential blocks became almost “invisible”. Such a house would definitely not violate the Alpine idyll! You would rest in the most comfortable conditions and would be as close to the nature as possible.
Mirror House villa consists of two residential blocks, the parts of the house are a little displaced towards each other, which helps to create a private atmosphere even at pretty close adjacency.
Within this house it is possible to relax in full from vain city life as well as to get lost among grapevines and mountain tops. This is facilitated by the fact that modern architecture does not invade into the landscape, but organically conjoins with it.
