Architects from Archiplan studio have performed reconstruction of the apartment occupying 230 sq meters, located at the ancient building in Mantua, Italy. The project is based on a luxurious house idea; the architects believed luxury to consist in space`s spirituality and sensuality of materials used.
This building is famous for its ancient ceiling and walls décor, which refers to XVI and first half of XIX centuries. The architects retained layers of these time markers, weren`t too strict in their selection and haven`t used items of a certain period. The apartment`s space arrangement was kept in its original appearance, whereas the internal division of residential zones was accounted for implementation of modern interior and furniture elements.

Both old and new spaces coexist in harmony, where there is no priority taken by one or another time period. Relations between the opposites are understood as a process of search for beauty, which lies in double-meaning and complicacy of items.
