The designing bureau Kariouk Associates has presented the private house Westboro in downtown Ottawa, Canada. A narrow piece of land between two adjacent buildings was efficiently used for the construction of a two-story residence with a garden. The room is always felt with light thanks to the large windows. Also, the courtyard is an integral part of the living space on both levels of the house.
The day area with entrance hall, living room, kitchen and dining room are combined together and situated on the ground floor, as well as the separate office room. Also, the three bedrooms, bathrooms and the room for reading and relaxing are designed upstairs. Moreover, all these rooms are visually connected to each other thanks to the open stairwell and a large number of strategically placed windows. All in all, the designers have made the residence look incredibly functional and at the same time cozy.
