The architects of the Create + Think Design Studio have introduced the A’tolan House project. This is a rather interesting residence, which name could be translated as “the house made of stone”; it`s constructed on the eastern coast of Taiwan. Such name is explained by the fact that numerous stones, which were found on the place of the object`s installation, have been used at the construction of its walls. The latter encompass the house in three levels and remind of rice terraces.

The peculiarity of this project is the use of traditional construction techniques, specific to the given region. There is the main entrance and the garden at the upper level of the residence; the terrace for rest with the swimming pool and the tree house are located downwards. Due to the on-hill location, the house is characterized by large internal and external space. At the same time plenty of greenery around the house and even on the roof makes the residence perfectly integrated into the surrounding nature. Each point of the residence opens up a marvelous view on the Pacific Ocean. In order to make the dwellers spend as much time outdoors as possible the architects projected only bedrooms and the kitchen. The rest zone and dining room are located outdoors. The architects have also created the multi-functional terrace, which may be used for yoga or stars observing.
