Kariouk Associates firm has designed the private residence on the bank of a small lake near Ladysmith, Canada. One family owned an old cottage for more than seven decades. However, its condition was so deplorable that the architects has decided to build a new one on that site. The cottage has repeated the size and location of the old one. On the other hand, the house has become more modern, open and stylish. The house was designed for permanent residence of the family throughout the year except the winter period, when the owners go to the warm countries. Thus, the price and designed were simplified because of absence of the problem of significant warming. In addition, in order to reduce labor costs, it was decided to construct the house from the pre-assembled components.
