Linc Thelen Design studio together with Scrafano Architects architectural bureau have turned an old church, located on the peaceful street at Little Italy district (Chicago, Illinois), into the modern house for a family with three children. During reconstruction the building was equipped with seven bedrooms and six bathrooms, as well as the living room, conjoined with the kitchen and dining room, which has ceiling of 7.5 meters high.
The authors managed to harmonically insert into the minimalism-styled interior the details, which remind of the building`s history: stained glass windows, a belltower, an old brickwork displayed at the living room. Moreover, the colourful stained-glass windows with floral and geometric ornaments became the main decoration of rooms with snow-white walls, ceilings and even the furniture. At the same time, the atmosphere in children rooms was created by means of wallpapers and carpets with original ornaments.

It is necessary to add that many elements of this project was custom-built according to the sketches of designers from Linc Thelen Design company, including the dining table, folding-back bed and climbing wall located at one of the bedrooms. Skillfully selected lighting fixtures allowed to emphasize the beauty of spacious premises and brought perfection to the interior.
