There is the private house amid Terschelling, an island in the northern Netherlands, which has a similar shape with the surrounding landscape. It is really pleasant to come in such a wonderful place, especially when you are tired of the city life and want to be alone with nature. The architect of this residential mansion with original geometric shapes, Marc Koehler, was inspired by dunes from the northern Netherlands islands. The house even has got the appropriate name – «Dune House». The house has the minimalistic wood-paneled fa?ade. In spite of the extraordinary shape of the roof, it is built according to the standards established by the regional power. It also has the complex geometric shape. The inner arrangement of the building is based on the principle of a spiral staircase. The dwelling space has a kind of spiral form. There is the bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor, and also the living room and kitchen on the first floor. The leisure area of the split-level type and with the wonderful view of the surrounding landscape is arranged just above. Almost the entire house is built of innovative and eco-friendly building materials. Inside there is the modern energy-efficient biofuel plant, which reduces carbon emissions almost to minimum.
