Float House was constructed in 2015 upon the project of Omar Gandhi Architect and located at the suburb Purcell’s Cove, Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada). The house is situated among the unique landscape, namely on the steep hill surrounded by cliffs and boulders and has breathtaking view on the ocean and lakes. The building consists of 4 blocks, conjoined together and covered with wooden planks in the colour of cliffs. Grey wooden material of facades, black aluminum windows and grey metal roof help the building to naturally fit the surrounding landscape. One of the house`s walls adjoins the cliff and thanks to this a marvelous inner yard was created. The residential space of 232 sq. meters allocates the living room, dining hall, perfectly equipped kitchen, several bedrooms, including the guest ones. The social zone occupies the whole block of the building, whereas private zones have found their places at the side blocks.
