The Hill Country house in the US state of Texas Austin on a small picturesque hillside was designed by the Cornerstone Architects bureau. Such arrangement allows keeping the confidentiality while residents can enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and city skyline. This cozy cottage is full of warmth, comfort and elegance. It was achieved by mixing warm natural hues of stained wood with gray concrete and local limestone. Expensive wood in walls and furniture finishing provide the feeling of comfort and coziness. Green plantings around the building give this house special charm.
Geothermal heating and cooling, rainwater collection system and high durable windows meet the latest requirements and make the house modern. What is interesting, the project provides passive solar lighting of the lower tier. Large transparent structures which are built into the walls make the room bright; special specious canopies protect the house from the burning sun rays.
