Caterpillar private house was projected by Sebastian Irarrazaval studio and located on the outskirts of Santiago, Chile. This is a prefabricated house, which consists of twelve containers with a total square of 350 sq. meters and is owned by art collector. It was quite a challenge for the architects to embed the building into the heavy-gradient surrounding landscape, which is located at the seismic zone. In order to lower the construction expenses and reduce costs for the house maintenance the designers performed finishing of moderately priced, yet durable materials. As a result, they created a unique residence with several functional zones, which are conjoined in a harmonic space.
